Join Cascadia Underground, Seattle CascadiaNow! and Cascadians from around the city and region as we march in the Fremont Solstice Parade! We are excited this year to be planning ahead, and will be making Cascadia Lanterns, and decorations starting in March for the Olympia Procession of the Species. Work will officially start for our solstice ensemble during Cascadia Culture Week May 12-20th leading up to the parade itself.

Come wearing your finest CASCADIA garb and join us for the annual Cascadia Ensemble in the Fremont Solstice Parade in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. OUT OF RESPECT FOR THE RULES of no written words or symbols for the large parade items – please leave flags at home, However DO be as creative as you like in representing Cascadia, or feel free to WEAR as much Cascadia gear as you like. Because the Fremont Arts Council has been so awesome in years past – we’d like to do our best to really actually respect the rules this year, and help be part of the merry making and fun!
ABOUT THE FREMONT SOLSTICE PARADE
Celebrate with Cascadia Underground on the longest day of the year with the Fremont Arts Council’s most spectacular event! Join more than 60 dazzling community-based ensembles parading down the streets of Fremont with giant puppets, stilt walkers, floats, dancers, cyclists and musicians in this kaleidoscope of joyous human expression. Then, we end the parade with the Fremont Solstice Celebration at Gas Works Park, where we celebrate with local and national street bands, food trucks, beer garden, and more art!

RULES:
The three rules for participating in the Fremont Solstice Parade exist to inspire, nourish, and protect the parades cultural evolution of imagination, creation, and sharing.
No written or spoken words. We use no words, symbols or lyrics in our art, music or dance.
No pets or live animals. We have no live animals in the Procession, with the exception of Service Animals.
No motorized vehicles. We do not motorize our creations which includes the use of musical amplification. Of course, a motorized wheelchair is certainly permitted.
